Making historic abuse claims
The Royal Commission Inquiry
The government set up the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions in February 2018. The Commission was set up to hear the stories of people who experienced abuse or neglect in State care between 1950 and 1999, with the aim of preventing future abuse. The inquiry is fully independent of the Government.
