Tairāwhiti Community Law Centre has an office in Gisborne and in Wairoa. Our geographical boundary runs from Pōtaka to the North East, Wairoa to the South and Matawai to the West.
We provide free legal information and education to all and legal advice, assistance and representation to those who meet our criteria.
We provide free legal advice clinics on a monthly basis in Wairoa (2nd Wednesday of each month) and Ruatōria (3rd Wednesday of each month).
We provide free over-the-phone legal advice between 2pm and 4pm Monday to Friday 0800 452 956
We provide legal education on a wide range of topics and we run sessions from our offices and from other venues in the community. Search our education calendar here to find a public education session that interests you.
We also organise 'private' education (not open to the public) for rōpū Māori, community groups, schools, alternative education providers and others. If your group is interested in getting educated, contact us directly.
