About the CLM:

Written in everyday language, the Manual contains over 1000 pages of easy-to-read legal info and comprehensive answers to common legal questions. From ACC to family law, health & disability, jobs, benefits & flats, Tāonga Māori, immigration and refugee law and much more, the Manual covers just about every area of community and personal life. It’s for people living in Aotearoa New Zealand (and their advocates) to help themselves.

By buying a copy of the Manual, you will get a hard copy of a good-looking and very useful legal reference book to have at hand when you, your family, or people you work with need some help.

Your support directly contributes to a fairer, more accessible justice system, and to better results for people with less. You also increase our chances of producing the Manual again, year after year.

Our shipping policy:

  • CLMs are shipped via PBT courier (with signature) once funds have cleared in our account
  • We require a physical address for courier, as PBT does not cover PO Boxes or Private Bags for security reasons
  • Please make a note at checkout if you’d like your Manual left at the door – otherwise it will require signature
  • We aim to process your order for shipping within 3 working days of receiving payment. Courier with signature takes 2-3 working days once picked-up by PBT (our carrier) from our Pōneke (Wellington) office.

A cover image of the 2021-22 Community Law Manual. It shows a collage of photos of various people. Two people with long hair crouch and smile, next to a photo of a person wearing a pounamu. Another person is swinging poi with a hand on their hip looking happy. There is a mother and child in a tree, two people sitting over a cup of tea, a person wearing a cap looking right at the camera, and some feet in the water.
